Senior Refresher

Maintaining driving independence for the older and wiser drivers:

Aging is inevitable, but that doesn’t mean you have to give up an active life. Driver safety is critical for everyone and there comes a time when an older driver experiences physical changes that can sometimes affect their driving abilities. These include changes in vision, reaction time, and flexibility.

We offer special instruction for our older and wiser drivers in our refresher course, including the following:

 

  • Private one-on-one 90 min Session
  • Professional and objective evaluation with honest feedback.
  • How to perform safety mapping of routine driving routes
  • May qualify for auto insurance discount

 

At Sweet Sisters, we understand the frustration one can endure having to go through the DMV process, and we have helped many people that have had their driving privileges revoked due to a medical condition, doctor recommendation, or traffic violation. Our service will let us evaluate your driving skills and help reinforce some often over looked practices for defensive driving. Responsibility for your safety starts with you.

In order to drive with us, we require that you have at least one of the following:

 

  • Valid CA Drivers License
  • Valid CA Temporary License
  • Valid CA Leaners Permit
  • Valid CA special Instructional Permit
  • Valid International License

  • Seat, hand and feet positions
  • Seatbelt, mirrors and signals
  • Instruments, gears, horns and lights
  • How to scan the road
  • Parking (along curbs, in parking spots, & parallel)
  • Stopping and parking on hills
  • Right turns and left turns
  • Driving in traffic
  • Defensive driving
  • Right of ways at intersection

 

  • How to identify hazards in your blind spots
  • Lane changes
  • U turns & 3-point turns
  • Downtown traffic and one-way streets
  • Freeway driving, merging on and off
  • Refueling
  • Driving in adverse weather conditions
  • Mountain driving
  • Nighttime driving 

 
 

If you have any specific driving requests, we are more than happy to assist you. We also offer safety mapping services, so we will help you find the safest and easiest routes to take, and will suggest the best driving times to make your experiences more enjoyable.
